Home visits are for housebound patients or at the discretion of the doctors and are for seriously ill patients (who cannot attend surgery). All requests should be made before 10.30 am.
Lack of transportation to the health centre is not a valid reason for a home visit.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse and prescriber who will visit, assess, order the tests, liase with the doctors, prescribe and if need be admit. This is being organised by the local health service.
